Lowes Court Gallery and Tourist Information Centre is located in the picturesque hamlet of Egremont in the heart of West Cumbria. The duality of the art gallery and tourist information centre means that it is a very useful place to visit. If you take a look at our history page you can see that the building is unique and sets off the exhibitions beautifully. The gallery itself has several art and craft exhibitions throughout the year and is a great backdrop to showcase the amazing and varied talents of the Cumbrian Artists and craftsters. The newest project for Lowes Court Gallery is an online shopping website. Hopefully by Summer 2012 you will be able to buy most of the objects that are available in the actual shop. | There has been some recent developments at the mine which are sure to make 2012 the year for Egremont and the arts. The Egremont And Area Regeneration Partnership and the new team at the mine are beginning to transform the centre into a vibrant and happening place for people and organisations to hold exhibitions and use the various spaces for workshops, shows and classes. There is now an exhibition space, a community cinema and studio theatre and training facilities for the digital arts. An exciting programme of workshops and activities alongside performing and visual arts is beginning to transform the cultural landscape of West Cumbria.
